Marinko has been called an “urban archaeologist” and “street editor”, creating artwork from layers of collected fragments from his everyday environment. His latest body of work consists of painting, photography, collage, audio and video. "Outside*Inside", explores the intersection of urban and natural spaces and the impulse to go “out” (into nature or to party) and the ways these experiences can help us get out of our heads and skin.
Marinko Jareb is a Croatian Canadian multidisciplinary artist currently splitting his time between St.Catharines and Toronto. Jareb is best known as a DJ and techno musician, most recently published by Resopal Records, Berlin. He has shown work and performed all over Canada (Ontario, Saskatchewan, Quebec and Nova Scotia), Europe (Finland, Sweden, Germany, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Croatia, Hungary, Switzerland, Austria) and the U.S. (Michigan, New York, Illinois). Marinko is a member of the CRAM Collective, Niagara Artists Centre (www.nac.org) and the Vinyl Interventions Trio (www.vinylinterventions.com) with Carrie Gates (Saskatoon) and Esther Bourdages (Montreal) - a project dedicated to exploiting the sonic, visual and sculptural qualities of phonographs, sound systems and records.
