Alice Crawley and Carolyn Wren

Born in St. Catharines, Ontario in 1961, Carolyn Wren studied art at the University of Western Ontario.   In the 1990’s, she served on the Board of Directors of Niagara Artists’ Centre as Treasurer and President, and has co-curated a number of projects including the NAC 22nd Anniversary, Women and Medicine, and The Alice Project.  She is a member of the CRAM Collective.

Wren uses relief print methods and processes in non-traditional ways to create installations.  She has been exhibiting her work since 1990 in group and solo shows across Ontario in public galleries and artist-run centres, and she was among ten artists who represented Canada in “Anatomical Permutations” at the Festival Internacional Cervantino in Guanajuato, Mexico (1998) and the National Centre for the Arts in Mexico City (1999).
