Krys Elliott

Born in St. Catharines, Ontario in 1960, Krys attended Niagara College and studied Fashion Arts and Design, leaving the programme in 1978 to trael Europe. Returning to Canada, Krys headed west to Alberta to seek her fortune in Fort McMurray so she could attend art school. In 1983, fortune in hand, Krys headed east to Halifax where she enrolled in the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design where she earned an Associate of the College with a diploma in Design and a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree as a Studio Major in 1987. Upon graduation Krys returned to St. Catharines and established a studio in the downtown core.

Krys' work has been exhibited in Nova Scotia and Ontario and is in numerous private and corporate collections. In 1991 she received an Ontario Arts Council grant and Krys has received consecutive Juror's Awards for works submitted to "On The Twelve" at Rodman Hall Arts Centre - Brock University.

Krys is co-owner of an award winning home decor store, Elliott & Company since 1987. In 2004, with her husband and fellow artist Mark Elliott, they were runner-up Canadian Decorative Accessory / Home Decor Retailer of the Year. The following year they were awarded the highest honour in the Canadian Home Decor / Gift Industry: Overal Canadian Retailer of the Year.
